LITIGATION ON BEHALF OF DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING INDIVIDUALS

GHV understands the challenges confronting the deaf and hard of hearing communities and is dedicated to advocating for the rights of our clients that arise under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Rehabilitation Act, the New York State Human Rights Law, and the New York City Human Rights Law.

GHV represents deaf and hard of hearing clients in a wide variety of legal matters.  Some of those matters include representation of deaf and hard of hearing individuals in significant personal injury litigation, including wrongful death and conscious pain and suffering.

Additionally, GHV represents members of the deaf and hard of hearing communities in matters ranging from eviction proceedings brought in Housing Court; and, for example, matters where deaf clients have been discriminated against at work or in other public settings.

Mr. Gitlin has advised deaf and hard of hearing clients, moreover, in matters involving consumer fraud, discrimination in employment, discrimination in hospital and medical settings, and in controversies surrounding public entitlements.
